How ironic that on the same day the headlines on all the finance sites were all about how much trouble General Motors is in, I’d run across a site that they’ve assembled to advertise their new and improved Tahoe (16 miles per gallon!) that has got to be one of the dumbest advertising moves I’ve ever seen… You see, the site lets users assemble, from a batch of pre-selected movie and music clips, their own commercials touting the wonders of the new and improved Tahoe (16 miles per gallon!). See where I’m going with this? It looks as though the idea might be backfiring on them because there is no shortage of sites that are collecting links of commercials made by viewers that are, let’s just say, not so kind to the new and improved Tahoe (16 miles per gallon!). There are some downright hilarious ones and it turns out that Chevrolet is, surprisingly, not censoring the majority of them. They seem to be removing some of the ones with questionable content, but for the most part they’re leaving them alone, for now at least. I watched a lot of them (this one is one of my favorites and decided to get in on the fun. Here’s the one I made…
