We bought the baby’s crib today! It was the first real baby purchase we’ve made so far, so it was a lot of fun. Even better, it was half off! Here’s a photo of it from the company’s website:
We originally wanted a black bed that we’d found. Then we changed our mind and decided that black just wasn’t right a for a little girl’s room. Plus, it was a tad too expensive, as is anything with the word ‘baby’ in it. So, we thought we’d go with a simple white bed we’d found at Target. Until we actually saw one put together… It was extremely flimsy and felt like it would turn over pretty easily. Apparently sometimes you do get what you pay for, so we decided to split the difference between the prices of the two we’d found already. It turns out there were quite a few really, really nice beds in that price range. We found the one we ended up buying at USA Baby and it was a floor model so it was marked half off! The other upside is that it was already put together. That fact alone sold me on it. Then, of course, we get it home and when we saw that it barely fit through the front door we knew there was no way we’d get it into the nursery in one piece. We tried turning it every way we could think of and finally decided we’d just take it back apart. Talk about fun…
Now that the crib is purchased, the stroller is next! I’ve already got it picked out (click here if you want to see it, it’s the olive/pewter color one). I’ve just got to find one in stock somewhere!
Remember that yuppie thing? I think I sealed the deal by picking out a diaper bag (Rebecca gets to do the nursery, I get to do the gadgets and gear!) that is apparently sold only at Nordstrom…
